Lina, we just returned from O'ahu and the Ohana Reef Towers. We stayed there for 6 nights.
The hotel should work for you. It is s an older hotel, but it is extremely clean and well-kept. Everyone that we met there was helpful.
We were on the 10th floor. Our room looked out to other hotels (i.e. we were not facing the street). We had a king bed and kitchenette (small stove, stove top, frig, and sink). They provide a utensils and a few pots/pans. You can also request a microwave and toaster be brought in. All appliances were very clean.
The hotel is centrally located. There is an ABC store (like a min-market) a few doors down where you can buy soda, beer, fruit, veggies, coffee...really whatever you need. The "Pantry" is also located in the hotel which has the same type of things (just a smaller store). The Ohana has a pool and pool bar, however due to the other large hotels surrounding it, the pool is in the shade for much of the day. However, you are literally one block from the beach and the Outrigger Reef. As an Ohana guest, you can use their pool/hot tubs. Happy hour from 3 - 6 daily (mai tai's and long island ice tea's for $3.00).
For clean, inexpensive accomodations, this was a great place to stay.
Post more questions if you have any!
Enjoy-

Hi Linda!
To answer your questions:
-air conditioning worked fine; easy to control (warmer/cooler) in your room.
-the frig does have an ice box; would have to lay the carton on its side to fit inside the freezer portion.
If you have any other questions, let me know!

You can get a 3 star hotel on Priceline for $50 a night. Most folks are getting the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani.
It's in a great location.
