Waikiki Hotel

Hi

Going to Hawaii first time this summer. Two adults and two teenagers.

We are looking at hotels in Waikiki. Would like something on beach with a pool.

Looked at Hilton Hawaiian Village. We are thinking of the Alii tower. However we also looked at the Grand Islander which is a condo on the Hilton property. Which one between these two?

Also-any other hotel recommendations?

Thanks.

When I'm in Honolulu, I like being right in the center of Waikiki Beach. So my favorites are the Moana Surfrider and the Royal Hawaiian. There is an Outrigger right in the same area. The Hilton is too far away for my taste, and it's a huge resort - which might or might not be what you are looking for.

There are only 7 hotels that are actually ON Waikiki Beach:

HHV, Halekulani, Royal Hawaiian, Moana Surfrider, Sheraton, Outrigger Reef, Outrigger Waikiki

I like the Outrigger Reef for location, price, ambiance.

Have you thought of a condo with teenagers? they seem to be always eating. Condos have more room too. Stayed at Waikiki Banyan and Waikiki Sunset seaveral times and the Waikiki Shore which is the only one right on the beach. All rented through VRBO. If you rent the Waikiki Shore through Outrigger you can use the pool next store at the Reef as the Waikiki Shore has no pool. The other 2 do but both are a 2 block walk to beach. The lanai do give you an ocean view.

If you tell us your budget, we could probably come up with several.

Stayed at Waikiki Beach Resort. On the upper floors you have the pacific off your balcony in front, and Diamondhead as the backdrop out your door.
