which property is the cleanest, and has the best pool? What about easy access to the beach? My husband and I are taking my elderly parents. We are not golfers. Is one beach area better than another. Thank you for your reply.

For The Winds, you will have to climb stairs to the second floor for an ocean view room. I don't know if the rooms across the street from the beach have an elevator or if you'll have to climb stairs too.
Because of the sand dunes, first floor rooms do not have a view of the ocean.
I don't know of The Ocean Isle Resort.

It's been many years since we stayed at the Winds. But even then it was an older, kind of quirky property. I liked it a lot. My better half only liked it okay--a little rustic and dingy for her.
So unless the Winds has received a major facelift (which I doubt), you may want to consider the Ocean Isle Inn, which I think is newer.
To my knowledge, the Ocean Isle beach suffers some erosion at its eastern tip, but I believe the Winds is far enough west that the beach would be okay. While the Ocean Isle Inn is near the western tip.
