Ocean City Suite

Looking for condo or suite accomodations in Ocean City, with kitchen, to accomodate a family with two small children. Prefer as close to boardwalk as possible, midweek 4 to 5 night stay. I'm looking at the Biscayne and Watson's but think there might be better choices out there. Any recommendations?

Ocean City, New Jersey.

This is for a midweek stay in late August.

Hi Dwjoe,

I have never found acceptable hotel accomodations in O.C.

Flanders no view to speak of and similar to ski accomadations you might find in New England.

Port of Call has rust problems and looks unsanitary yet they charge over $200 a night from memory.

I grew up going to Ocean City New Jersey. Go to Moynehans or berger reality online and call to see if you can work out midweek rates.

The Hilton in Atlantic City has $70. Ocean Front rooms midweek. I know AC YUCK. My family has been though and they would never go before. They love those mid-week deals though and it is just a short drive from A.C.

Otherwise I would say go to Cape May although I have never done a walk through of the hotels there. Just seems like there is more of them so I am guessing the competition forces them to have a higher standard than O.C.

Good Luck!!!

Wildwood NJ instead of OC. Stasyed in Days Inn, with a 50's flare. $100 per night for kitchenette, living room , bathroom and separate bedroom!! Like a small apartment. Walked to beach incredible sunrise. Cleanest beaches on the East Coast, the city vaccuums the beaches every morning, no kidding I watched 'em do it!!! We walked from the hotel to the board walk in our pj's with our coffee and watched the sunrise...I have pictures...the locals were friendly and helpful, we had pizza delivered from a real Italian restaurant. I will definitely go there again!!! This is THE place you should look into. It is across the street from the new convention center on the beach in Wildwood NJ.

Try Fox or Coastal Realty; they handle rentals at the northern end of the Boardwalk, which is close to much of the action. They usually rent only by the week, but paying for a weekly rental may be less than paying by the night for 4-5 nights. We've had good luck finding simple but clean condos and apartments just a block or two from the beach and boardwalk at affordable prices.

We've stayed at Watson's off-season for a couple of days at a time. Their places are clean and nicely furnished but very small and overpriced. One plus--they have an indoor pool--a rarity in OC--which might be a Godsend if there's a rainy day and your kids get antsy.

Thanks for the responses, we are pretty much decided on Ocean City so I'm confining my search to there.

Linda0515, thanks for the referals. Coastal realty in particular has a lot of Internet searchable condo listings.

There is a new property opening in June of this year called Ebb and Tide Suites (ebbtidesuites.com). It has both one and two bedroom accomodations. I believe it's location is around 8th and Ocean and offers use of the pool at the nearby Impala. The only downside is that they're only taking weekly rentals at the moment. They will begin to take daily rentals in June.
