Oahu - Which luau?

My husband and I will be going to Oahu in December. Want to go to a luau during our trip. We were planning on going to Paradise Cove but recently read PCC did upgrades to thier grounds. We didn't want to do the whole day at PCC, just luau. Was wondering if we could get some feedback if we should still stick with Paradise Cove. We heard that was the best one Oahu has to offer.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

If it were me, I would go out to a wonderful dinner in Waikiki and then have a drink at the Mai Tai bar at the Royal Hawaiian while their luau is going on and watch the entertainment.

The luau at PCC is a grand affair, rememeber you will have quite a drive back afterwards. ALso, you will probably have to take a bus to Paradise Cove.

At Paradise Cove you go in and watch/make crafts and play historical games. You watch a net fishing example, flowers rain from the trees in a story. You drink, walk around, watch the show as they pull out the pig. Then you eat and watch a huge production. To me, the location alone sells it. If you don't want to join in on the activities you can take sunset photos alone.

When people visit, I usually recommend Paradise Cove. However, I found out that the Royal Hawaiian Hotel has a luau a couple times a week, right on their grounds! If it were ME, I'd rather do that....the drive out to PCC or Paradise Cove is soooooo long!

We went to the Paradise Cove laua in June. The activities before the luau were the best part. The food was mediocre at best. If you go, pay extra to be served the food.
