Some of the Affinia hotels (Shelburne for 1) have 1 bedroom suites with 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living room. Embassy Suites and Doubletree may as well.
I had some visitors stay at the Avalon years ago. They had a 1 bedroom suite and it included a decent continental breakfast (although I have no idea if it still does). They loved it.
2 rooms though may be best, just for the extra bathroom, especially when traveling with teens.
