NYC: Places to eat near Marriott Upper East Side?
Travelling w/wife and two small kids, so we're not looking for "trendy" or "hip" (or expensive!)
Also...any places that stay open late...if I want to grab a late-nite bite to eat?

Is this the Courtyard on east 92nd street? I'm not fond of the Upper East Side, so I don't really know the Yorkville area very well, but I'm virtually certain that you will find diners and restaurants on 1st and 2nd avenues that will be within easy walking distances of your hotel. The stretch of 1st Avenue in the low 90s is (or at least used to be) a very lively stretch filled with bars and restaurants, and many were open late. You might even find a couple of good German or Polish restaurants from when Yorkville was a Polish center.

Look on www.menupages.com. There's a search function that lets you see all restaurants in the east 90s, and you can sort by price and rating. This site also displays menus with prices and reviews so you can refine your search further from there.
Ditto what Doug said. It's definitely not a dining destination neighborhood, with the exception of Sfoglia which got a great review by Frank Bruni last weekend. Hopefully someone who lives up there will chime in.

I can recommend One Fish, Two Fish on Madison Ave and 97th ST. Fun place good food, kids would like it too. Also open late.
They have specials like lobster and big salad bowls and great bread. Good comfort food.
The sugestion of 1st and 2nd AVe are good ones, lots of local places there.
Have a fun time while you are here.

Second Avenue from 92nd Street south has dozens of options -- all cuisines & all price ranges.
And most of the diners, like the good on the corner of 86th & 2nd, are open 24/7.
Enjoy! The Upper East Side is a great residential New York neighborhood.
