What has been heard about "Inherit the Wind"? Is it for a 12 year old? He has seen Wicked, Les Mis, Phampton and loved them. Is he too young for a Drama?
Thanks

Every single Broadway show now has it's own website with loads of information on the plot, the actors, when it's a musical-the music. I assume you realize this is not a musical?

I should have added Playbill (and probably theatermania) give "advisories" and there's none for this show

It's a great play and a wonderful cast. But it is serious (not adult but serious) subject matter. Some 12 year olds would love it - but I think many would be bored stiff. If he's 12 he's in 7th grade - so he should probably has studied evolution already. Do you know if he has? Was he intrested? If not he might not get the entire point of the play.

It doesn't officially open until April 12, so there will no real reviews until then.
The play is one of the finest courtroom dramas written, so surely there will be nothing negative about the play itself. In fact a critic would have to be crazy to suggest it's even "outdated". And while some critics may split hairs about interpretations, for any but the most particular theatre goer, it's hard to imagine faulting the likes of Brian Dennehy, Christopher Plummer, and Denis O'Hare as actors. That's just my prediction.

I saw the first preview and really enjoyed it. The actors were still getting comfortable with their roles, so I would imagine by now it's fantastic. However, I'm not sure it would hold a 12-year-old's attention. The subject matter is rather intense (evolution vs. creationism), so if you do bring him, be prepared for post-show discussions and questions.
