Don't know anything about this - but I would assume that a student who qualifies for this type of program is capable of sorting out their own housing. Naturally the intern can contact the program organizer to see if there is ay informal housing share program.
I would also contact the housing offices of universities in the area to try to hook into their systems for circulating non-U housing info among their students.
If this is Albany housing should not be expensive but the student should get a move on if this stats in January.
