Which is the better for location,modernity and luxury ?

My daughter and son-in-law went to the W Times Square last year and loved it.

We stayed at the P-M in April and liked it. We had a one bedroom suite, and it was plenty large with us and two kids. Very sleek feeling, and I believe there was a pool. I liked the location, too. For me, it was nice to get away from Times Square (we were there almost each day of our trip) and go to our hotel in a calmer neighborhood. That said, if I wanted luxury, I don't think I'd choose either of these two hotels.

The W TS is a newer hotel but the P-M was recently renovated so on the modernity score, I'd say they're equal. I think the rooftop pool of the P-M and it's location near Central Park and Fifth Ave. makes it feel more luxurious. But tourist seem to love TS (while NYers just shake their heads and ask why do people want to stay here

The W TS is a better location if you're planning to do a lot of theater. The P M is better for upscale shopping. But I do agree with sfamylou to a certain degree. Neither is the height of luxury for NYC. They both have good restaurants btw. Blue Fin at W TS is very good. Norma's & Burger Joint at P M are both very popular.

HI--We have stayed at Parker Meridien several times, altho not in the last few years. For me, quiet is paramount and the rooms there are wonderfully soundproofed!! Very lovely and civilized breakfast and lounge as well. The rooms are furnished in a very minimalist, but soothing modern style. The lobby is lovely. I am not sure of your definition of luxury but it is a hotel that I would not hesitate to return to. I know nothing at all about the other establishment you mentioned.....

IMHO Paraker Meridien is the better choice just for location - unless you;re doing tons of theater - but you must understand neither of these is in the luxury class. There's nothing wrong with them - perfectly pleasant - but don;t expect anything special - like a Ritz, 4 Seasons or Mandarin.
