Northern Oregon Coast

Hi,
I will be camping along the northern (and maybe central) Oregon coast this Fri-Sun. Any suggestions on "must sees". We enjoy easy-moderate hiking, site-seeing, relaxing, and great seafood
Thanks!

AAA has a good Oregon Coast Tour Map highlighting sites on the coast.

In years past we loved to camp at a campground on the northern coast called Oswald west-it is near Tillamook and is a lovely site-they even used to have wheelbarrows to bring your stuff down to a litty hidden cove with a nice beach and not too many tent sites. Here is a link to a website from oregon state parks:

The little tourist town of Cannon Beach is also fun off season if you want a good meal or hot latte!

HAVE FUN

Here are some wonderful places: Bandon; Shore Acres and Cape Arago State Parks near Coos Bay; Sea Lion Caves, near Florence; and Cannon Beach and nearby Ecola and Oswald State Parks. There is much else, but these are very special. Take a look at Frommer's book for Oregon.

Guess I missed this post and you're off camping right now. Hope you are enjoying it! For future hikers, if you look up this thread, I'd suggest the trail at Cape Lookout onto the Tillamook Head. It's right off the highway and is a wonderful hike on a spit that juts into the water. It takes you through coastal rainforest with gorgeous coast views, and, if the whales are migrating, you will catch a glimpse of them.

Hope you report back on your weekend, Allysum!
