In addition to Mackinac Island, here are some great places to see and visit.

Take a drive up Old Mission. The views a great. A number of wineries are dotted along Old Mission. Make sure to visit the lighthouse at the tip.

The little town of Bellaire, in Antrim County is surrounded by lakes including Torch Lake and Lake Bellaire. Shanty Creek is in Bellaire, too. They have several golf courses and good kid programs.

If you visit Bellaire, make sure you don't forget to buy some Northern Michgian cherries. The Traverse Bay Farms store, just south of town offers dried cherries, cherry juice concentrate and Fruit Advantage tart cherry capsules.

They have an interesting storyboard on the wall about the history of the area and the history of cherries.They even have "cherry hunts" for the kids. It's great!

Thanks for mentioning the date of the first post. Northern Michigan just has so much to offer. We enjoy spending as much time as we can Up North. There is so much to do and see.

We love vacationing in Northern Michigan. We have a place on Intermediate Lake and enjoy the Village of Bellaire. The Rubber Duck parade is great for the grandkids. We enjoy coffee from North Perk. Great wine selection. We also stop by Traverse Bay Farms and buy our dried cherries, cherry juice concentrate and Fruit Advantage Cherry Capsules. I highly recommend them.
