North Shore of Oahu

Where is the best casual place to eat on the North Shore? Are the shrimp buses or trucks safe?

Shrimp trucks are great. They are all safe.

Ted's Bakery has a decent menu.

Several places in Haleiwa including Cholo's, Breakers, Jameson's, Killer Tacos, Rosie's Cantina, Pizza Bob's, Kua 'Aina

Nice site for North shore sights, restaurants, attractions & maps:

Good for restaurants:

North Shore Locations include Haleiwa, Kahuku, Laie (just past North Shore)

Grass Skirt Grill in Haleiwa is great for casual and fresh fish, no thrills kind of place.

we tried Romy's for shrimp, not a truck but a little shack. it was really good the day we went, especially if you like garlic.

Went to the North Shore and had lunch at the Giovanni Shrimp Truck. Tried both the garlic and scampi. Will definitely go back on our next trip.

I would agree that one of the shrimp trucks would be a great choice! The garlic shrimp is soooo delicious!

Sorry, don't know the North Shore because I stay in Waikiki. But YES shrimp trucks are safe... and wonderful!

We also recommend the bloody marys at Jamesons. The patio is a fabulous place to enjoy the view.

Besides shrimp trucks, look for anywhere serving "plate lunch". Yum.
