NO Hotel with Pool?

Planning a very short trip to NO in August for 3 nights. Would like an extremely nice clean hotel with a pool (since it is August) preferably on or near French Quarter. I seem to remember reading a long time ago of one with a rooftop pool?

The Omni on Royal Street has a very nice rooftop pool with great views of the Quarter. Ask for a king room as the rooms with queen beds are tiny. Also, king rooms on 2nd and 4th floors have balconies ... ask for one on 2nd floor (4th is a bit too high to enjoy people watching on the street).

The Holiday Inn Chateau La Moyne on the edge of the Quarter has one-we've stayed there twice and really liked it's location as it's not loud but close enough to all the action.

The Royal Sonesta, right on Bourbon Street, has a rooftop pool. It's very attractive, surrounded by landscaping, and has a bar area. Since Bourbon Street can be quite noisy, ask for a room that doesn't face the street, and you may end up with a room that has french doors opening on to the pool courtyard -- this way, you won't have to traipse through common areas to get to the pool and have direct access.

The hotel itself has very beautiful, elegant common areas. The rooms are not huge, but they are well-appointed with very comfortable beds. The style is French-influenced traditional. You can expect to get a great deal in August.

The Monteleone, in the heart of the French Quarter, has a rooftop pool.

The De La Poste had a very nice outdoor pool in a lovely, landscaped courtyard with a small fountain. Our room also had a shared balcony.

Thanks for the information. The Omni is the one that I remember reading about, although the Royal Sonesta is also offering great rates for August. Can anyone tell me what the bathrooms are like in these hotels? Sorry, but one of my quirks is a clean well appointed bathroom, whenever possible.

Ellen, The De Le Poste on Chartres street is now the W French Quarter. We stayed there about a year and a half ago and really liked it!

The Ramada Inn on Bourbon has a pool - not rooftop, but in a great courtyard. They also have great rates for August (from $84.00 for a rack room to only $152.00 for a Bourbon Street balcony room).

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon a couple of years ago. Strangest thing is that though I remember the room very well, I haven't the faintest recall of the bathroom. That said, I'm sure it was up to par with the classiness of the rest of the hotel or I would have remembered it. So probably nothing fabulous (I would remember a huge tub!) but clean and well appointed. It's a great hotel with a lovely pool and you can't beat the location - my favorite place to stay in New Orleans!

The Hotel Provincial is in the FQ and has 2 pools. The rooms are very nice and the bathrooms are fully stocked but sort of small. However, the toilet/shower and the sink area are separated by a door.

Wow, So many places to choose from! Thanks to all who responded. Now the tough decision of which one to choose. I think we are definitely leaning toward a balcony for this 1st trip.
