No a/c in Kauai

We are staying at a condo next to the Princeville late April 2004. It looks wonderful but I just found out it has no a/c. I sleep with the a/c at 68 degrees. Will this be a problem? It does have ceiling fans though. We will be there for 7 days and I don't want to be miserable.
I have to send my deposit tomorrow so please respond quickly.

We stayed at Pali Ke Kua, which is right next door to Puu Pua, and we didn't have a/c either and it was fine. However, the units that have the setting sun in them all afternoon would be a bit warm. So it depends, thats where the best view is, but then the units are a bit warm. You are up on a bluff so you do get a breeze and with ceiling fans its not so bad. If the deciding factor came down to either no a/c and a view, or a/c in a different place, I would pick the view here with no hesitation.

We stay at Kiahuna Plantation every year for 2 weeks, dead of summer with no a/c. This year I needed an extra light blanket. It's wonderful not to have that roar of the machines, but the ocean instead!!

WuWuWu, which condo are you staying in? Thinking about Puu Poa in April but haven't narrowed down a unit yet. Hoping for one of Bali Hai views. I can't imagine needing AC in April but I live in Florida and 68 sounds downright freezing to me!

I was there in July of 2003. I had the same qualms as you. The trade winds were blowing and it was fine. However, it was a bit hot in the loft where my son slept. I would not let being without AC stop me from staying in the north shore. It is truly amazing. I'm sure there will be a standing fan in addition to the ceiling fans. Also, you will probably be so tired from enjoying all the activities that Kauai has to offer that you will probably too tired to feel hot.
Enjoy!

"Don't sweat it" might be the wrong reply to this post, but believe me, it won't be a problem. We didn't have air in our condo on Kauai either. The reason most places don't have it is because they don't need it.

WuWuWu, 303 looks fantastic and has everything I'm looking for. Do you know if it has good views of Bali Hai or just the ocean?

Good suggestion on the afternoon sun. We only used the a/c when we stayed in a room with the p.m. sun. And we usually go Nov/Dec/Jan...But what the heck are you doing in your room on Kauai in the p.m.???
