Nice place for brunch/lunch on Mother's Day in DC?

Can anyone recommend a nice place for lunch on Mother's Day in Washington DC?
Normally I don't go out on Mother's Day (I work in the restaurant biz and it's the craziest day of the year!) but I'm going to be in DC with my Mother on that day, so what's a daughter to do?
I'd prefer some place that does a nice regular lunch or brunch on Sundays, not some place that's just doing brunch for Mother's Day.
We're staying in the Dupont Circle area and have a 6 PM flight to catch. We'll need to be able to walk to take the metro there.
Thanks!

You could try Georgia Brown's -- I took my mother there a couple years ago. The food was good and the atmosphere festive. I don't remember its location with regard to Metro stops, however. If you do go, I recommend the french toast -- it's made with biscuit batter and you can drown it with pecan maple syrup. Sticky heaven on a plate

Hi,

You could try the Melrose at the Park Hyatt Hotel (24th and M streets, NW), the Monarch Hotel (2401 M St., NW), or Seasons at the Four Seasons Hotel (2800 Pennsylvania Ave., NW), which all have lavish brunches.

For something a bit different, try Bistro Bis at the Hotel George (15 E St., NW).

Enjoy DC!

Thanks for the ideas.
Georgia Browns looks really nice, but according to their online reservatons, they're already booked solid. I'll have to call.
Thanks for the hotel brunch ideas too!

Anyone else?

Cashion's Eat Place is a great place in walking distance from Dupont Circle that offers brunch. The Tabard Inn is in Dupont and has a nice brunch.

You could try poking around at washingtonian.com (or chowhound).

I'd suggest poking around on washingtonpost.com. They have a great restaurant finder feature arranged by cuisine, price, location, etc. And I would be surprised if they didn't have a list of recommended brunch places, esp. with Mother's Day coming up. Good luck--I still have nightmares about the last time I went out for Mother's Day brunch! (But sticking to more upscale places will help prevent a nightmare!)

A friend recommended both Cashion's Eat Place and the Tabbard Inn as well.
Anyone here have brunch experience with either of these restaurants?

Try Gabriel's downtown. They have an excellent brunch. If you want a list of restaurants, try visiting www.digitalcity.com/washington/dining

A very strong second for Gabriel's (it's actually Dupont - not downtown). Another great brunch choice would be Cafe Atlantico's latin dim sum brunch. Here's a list of brunch places from the Washingon Times (an otherwise useless paper in terms of dining/culture).

Two of my workmates suggest Rosemary & Thyme on 18th Street, NW near Adams Morgan. The food is great, they tell me, at a reasonable cost.
