Nice Hotel in Dallas

Has anyone stayed at the Magnolia in Dallas? Was it nice?

I haven't stayed in it, but I've seen the rooms. They're quite tiny. The one I was shown was also rather dark. The hotel itself is nice though.

I'm not crazy about the area where it's at, except that it's close to Neiman Marcus.

Check www.guidelive.com
Melrose and Zsa Zsa would be my choices if the bank account was "full".

I had started leaning toward Za Za. Have you stayed there?

Read the reviews for ZaZa - I heard about thin walls with parties in adjacent rooms.

There is also the Crescent Court.

Hi Luecke5,

I've stayed at both the Melrose and ZaZa but not the Magnolia.
At the Melrose, some of the rooms have been renovated and those are nice with a roomy bathroom. However, the outdated rooms are tired and gloomy and I wouldn't stay in those again. The bar is a schmoozy clubby bar and usually busy. The Melrose is a good value for the great location close to restaurants and clubs.

For ZaZa, we have stayed there several times in different types of rooms and have not been disturbed by the outdoor bar area yet. We always ask to have a room away from the pool area even if that means no balcony. We really enjoy the lux accomodations and the bar is excellent with a very nice restaurant that has been pretty consistent on quality and service. The bar gets pretty crazy on weekends but there are many other places around ZaZa to runaway to.

Hope that helps.

My faves are the Mansion, the Crescent, the Fairmont (this is going back several years and I've heard it isn't as nice anymore) and one more whose name escapes me . . .
