You'll find more answers to your questions than you ever believed possible if you search.

I typed newark manhattan into the search box, and clicked on find ... if you tried it already, your misspelling may have been the downfall.

Hi:

Welcome to the Big Apple. You should be able to catch a SuperShuttle into Manhattan for about $19.00 per person. Just follow the signs to ground transportation and sign up at the desk.

What are your preferences for activities. Shopping, baseball, taking a row boat ride in central park? Taking a Circle Line Cruise around Manhattan? How about a afternoon Broadway Show.

Walk thru Times Square, check out the Wax Museum, ESPN Zone, & head north a couple of blocks over to Rockefeller Center.

What about checking out Soho, for shopping, gifts & eats. You could jump in a cab & head uptown to do a Sunday church service at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem and then stop off at 135th & Lenox. You'll find the Schomburg Center for African American Culture there.

See Chinatown, Battery Park City & take the Staten Island Ferry & get a peek at our Lady Liberty in all her glory.

It's up to you. Have fun & good luck.

There is no 'e' in Manhattan.

At 10:30 PM, I would take a taxi.

With the Airtrain, you still have to get a taxi from Penn Station.

The shuttle could take a while since it is a holiday weekend.

Taxi to the city would cost about $50. The Super shuttle can take forever if you are one of the last to be dropped off. . Airport bus to the Port Authority (W. 42nd and 8th AVenue) is about $11 a person. You would need a taxi to get the hotel.

Within the last couple of years they completed a monorail to the airport that ties into the NJ Transit trains that run directly into NY Penn Station. I think this would be the fastest, easiest and least expensive means of getting into the city. I'm pretty sure they still run at that hour of the evening. Check out the NJ Transit website for schedules. Probably runs about $12 a head, and you don't have the hassle of traffic going thru the tunnels.

As for the second part, have your walking shoes ready and you'll find a million things of interest without having to plan anything.

Take a taxi. I would not rely on the trains at that time of night. Then you still need to get a taxi from the station to the hotel. You only have 2 days, don't begin with an upsetting experience.

I love the AirTrain and NJ Transit, I use it all the time, BUT, a big BUT here, I'm a light packer. If you have more than a carryon bag, Airtain-NJ Transit-Subway is a big pain in the butt.

The trains from Newark Airport to NY Penn Station will be running at 10:30pm, but you may have to wait quite a long time for a train.

Take a cab.

There will be 7 buses leaving EWR between 10:45 and 12:45; some go to Penn Station, others to (PABT & GrandCentral). Call 1-877-8-NEWARK or

http://www.coachusa.com/newark/NAE_TT01.htm

$19/person round trip, or $12 one way. Take that to Manhattan then taxi from whichever location is closest to your hotel, if that trip is not walkable.

Particularly since there are two of you, and therefore you'd need to purchase two bus/shuttle/airtrain tickets, a taxi is the obvious choice.

Enjoy NYC!

Took Air-Train last weekend. The current NJ Transit schedule shows weekdays leaving EWR 10:34, 10:49, 11:39,11:45 on SAT/SUN/Hol it leaves at 10:15, 11:07, 11:15, 12:07a
The monorail ran frequently, it was very easy, and just under a half hour to get into the city.

I don't understand Gekko's "obvious choice"

Taxi about $50 each way=$100 R/T

Olympia Bus $19 x 2 = $38 + MAYBE all of $20 for taxis to/from hotel? That's at least $42 saved.

But as I stated in post #2, they'll find more answers to their questions than they ever believed possible.
