New York Yankee Game Ticket Help Needed

We will be in NYC the first weekend in September and desperatly want to go to a Yankee game. I checked their website and it says no tickets are available for Friday or Saturday (Sept. 5 or 6) when we would be able to go. It looks like the tickets are pretty expensive on the website, and we wouldn't want to pay too much for tickets. What should I do? Anyone got an answer?

Yankees v. Red Sox no real suprise there.

http://www.buyselltix.com/mlb/mlb.php?team=Red%20Sox is offering tickets and Ebay has tickets for both days.

Assuming it's still a tight pennant race in September, be happy with any tickets you can get for a Yankee-Red Sox series! There's no more heated rivalry in baseball.

You might have to sell your "first born" to get tickets for that game whether it's tight or not.., especially if Pedro is pitching.. Go Sox!!

Just hang on for a few weeks as the Sox should be 10 games back by that point and scalper prices will drop. Actually, just trying to torment ParrotMom, even when the Sox are 10 games back, this will be a tough ticket. Be glad if you can get anything.

Just went to the Saturday game this weekend. People were buying and selling tickets outside the stadium, but it was soldout. You are probably going to have to pay a premium no matter what you do, it was our first trip to NYC, but the Yankees game was truly a great experience!!! Sat in the top tier section 18, talk about steep and high!!! The $18.00 high altitude tickets are fun, if you can get any!

Yankee Stadium has simply gotten outrageously expensive. Even the bleacher seats are over $10 now. I went with some friends earlier this year to a Toronto game and paid $38 for seats just above the Loge level on the Third Base side of Home Plate. Add to that $7 for a beer and I can't remember how much for a hot dog and you're talking real money.

If you're willing to gamble a bit, here's what I often do:

Get to the stadium 30-45 minutes before the game, but go in a sports bar across the street (under the subway) and have a beer. Relax. You may strike up a conversation with someone with tickets and get a deal (it's happened to me several times). If no luck, then . . .

After the game has started, scalpers with tickets start getting nervous and you can usually score tix for face value or less. You'll miss the opening pitch and maybe the first inning, however.

Of course, if you're willing to pay, just find a scalper before the game, bargain as best you can, and pay up.

I rarely arrive at the Stadium with tickets, and I've never missed a game. Good Luck!
