My husband and I have stayed at the Milburn Hotel http://www.milburnhotel.com/ on the Upper West Side a few times with our son, who is now almost 5. It's a great choice for families--nice family- friendly neighborhood, close to several subway stops, easy to walk to Central Park, Natural History Museum, and lots of restaurants. The best part, though, is that the rooms are little apartments--you get a separate bedroom, a small living room, plus a little bitty kitchenette (tiny fridge and sink area, plus microwave). We always feel at home here, and it's just so nice to be able to put our son down for a nap or bedtime and be able to stay up a bit later. Plus, there are several grocery stores on either side of the hotel, which makes it easy to keep some simple supplies in the kitchen (and save a little bit on meals out). I love staying here and we've never had issues with bedbugs there. Good luck!
