New York City...what to do....

The title is a bit misleading, since I live nearby. But maybe because it's nearby, I don't know what to do there that I haven't already done.

I'll be there this weekend for the Winter Antiques Show. And I'll pay a visit to the Metropolitan Museum. (My birthday present to myself). Other than that...would you believe I can't think of a single thing to do??

Go to The Rainbow Grill and drink an entire bottle of champagne and eat strawberries and watch Manhattan light up!

Go to the Japanese pastry shop next to Rockefeller and admire the colorful, meticulously beautiful desserts.
Then buy one, eat it, and be amazed that it tastes like fish.

Have you seen every show on Broadway and off Broadway?

Have you been to Friday Night Magic at the Waldorf?

Have you been to Brooklyn recently? I hear there's a really interesting sculpture exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

The Spanish exhibit at the Guggenheim is very good. Have you been to the Neue Gallery recently? What about the Cooper Hewitt? http://www.cooperhewitt.org/EXHIBITI...ugene_thaw.asp

Play tourist and go on a bus tour or a walking tour. Go up to the Cloisters.

If the weather is clear, I would really consider Top of the Rock. I live in NYC and generally don't do the big tourist stuff, but I loved it! The views are truly incredible.

You can get a discount in this winter's Season of Savings: seasonofsavings.com

I love the Top of the Rock, but I definitely would avoid it in cold weather, 'bause it's freezing up there!

Well, I went to the seasonsforsavings website...and good idea! No Top of the Rock, but I bought a ticket to see Chicago.

The Rainbow Grill and champagne is looking good to take in the views.

Any other ideas?

What is Friday Night Magic @Waldorf?

New York is Broadway!
Check the New Yorker for concerts, etc.

The Rainbow Grille view is the same as the Top of The Rock. One or two floors down.

Chicago City Limits, an improv troupe, near the theater district. This post is probably too late for you, and it looks like your evening is covered (unless you have one more night free). But, based on a recent poster's question about this show, it looks like it's not well known, but we've always had a great time.

Thank you all...I had a mah-velous time!

Le Parker Meridian even gave me complimentary chocolate covered strawberries as a b-day gift.

(The Rainbow Grill will be a must-do on my next trip. I'm going with friends.)
