New York City Limo service

We generally find that a limo from the airport to the hotel is not that much more expensive than a taxi and much more comfortable. It's been a few years though since we've visited the city.

Can anyone recommend a good limo service that we could book a reservation with?

Carmel is one I've used many times, but I've used sedans, not limos. Check out www.CarmelLimo.com for more info - there might be discount codes there as well. Enjoy your trip!

Perfect! We used that one before too and it was good back when. We'll book a pick up with them on our trip. Many thanks!

dial7.com is the other option at around the same price and lately there seem to be fewer complaints with them than Carmel. Both use independent drivers who own their own cars.

I also use dial7 and like them fine. I've also used limolink as well. Limolink is a little more expensive, but they automatically include tip and seem a little more "upscale".

We used Tel Aviv Private Cars several times, but it looks like their number (I have on file) is the same as Dial 7?

Not sure if they merged.

Carmel 212-666-6666 or 800-9-carmel

Dial7 212-777-7777 or 800-777-8888

ScubaMom:

This last time into the city and back I thought the taxi driver was going to kill us. Even my DH said he was worried.

So on our next visit coming up in May I am going to use a car service.

Thanks for posting this question.

Sorry -

Limos are much more expensive than taxis. I fyou mean a basic car servie - black sedan, then they are usually not uch more. An actual limo will be twice as much as a taxi at least.

Reliable car services are Carmel or Dial 7. Go to the web sites for coupons.

SandyBrit - Many of the drivers are out of control. They're usually speaking on their phones (which is illegal for drivers even with just an ear piece). This goes for the car service drivers at well. No matter where I travel in the city, after I give my destination, I tell them not too fast. They almost always comply and if not, I tell them again. Always, wear your seat belt.

Dial7 is the same as Tel Aviv.

Just had driven with them form EWR to Manhattan. Everything was fine. Very recommendable.

I use Carmel to/from JFK or EWR. Living in the Upper East side, it's much cheaper to use taxis to/from LGA.

Both Carmel and Dial7 (formerly Tel Aviv), along with AllState are responsible with similar prices.
