New York Airport Service Bus
Has anyone ever used the New York Airport Service bus? It looks like it's cheaper for 2 people (Right now it's only $19 total for two people one way) versus taking a cab from LGA. We will be arriving at 10:30 AM on a Sunday and are staying at the Roosevelt (Midtown East), which looks to be near Grand Central Station where the bus makes a stop. I'm assuming it takes more time than a cab, but that isn't a big deal for us since we are getting there so early. If you all still think a cab is the best option, do you recommend requesting a particular route? We took a cab last year and although I don't know the best routes through NYC, I feel like the drivers might have taken some weird routes. Thank you!

I take the airport buses all the time and they're great. If you buy RT tickets, you'll save a few $$.
And as ellenem said, the Roosevelt is very convenient to the Grand Central bus stop so it makes sense to take the bus.
Cabs will usually go thru' the Midtown Tunnel, or the Triborough Bridge, both of which have tolls. The 59th St. Bridge has no toll. But for your purposes, the airport bus will be fine.

The bus is fine but it's $19 for 2 and a taxi will be maybe $25 at that hour on a Sunday morning. You can ask the driver to take the 59th st. bridge where there's no toll. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer on this, but I would just take a taxi on a Sun. morning.

Just wanted to post an update in case anyone else checks out this post looking for similar info...We did end up going with the bus. It was relatively quick and easy, and a very comfortable bus. The only thing was that we did have to drag our suitcases along the sidewalks to our hotel, but it wasn't too bad.
I did notice that the fares were cheaper if you purchased tickets right there at the airport versus purchasing them ahead of time online.

Yes the bus will stop a couple of blocks from the hotel. But on Sunday morning the cab from LGA probably wont be as much as $38, even with toll and tip, unless something very unusual is going on.
I would just hop in a cab rather than schlep my luggage through the street.
