New Orleans Restaurants & Nightlife
My husband and I are making our first trip to New Orleans this weekend and will be spending 5 days there. We are staying at the Omni Royal Orleans and would love suggestions for must-see attractions and great places to eat. (We are so excited to eat in N.O. - hear it is great!)
In addition, any suggestions for fun bars/pubs with live music?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Night Life - Pat O'Brien's
Romantic Dinner - Top of the Dome Steakhouse - a revolving roof top restaurant with magnificent views of New Orleans! (and the food is good, too)
A must do - Cafe du Monde -- a New Orleans tradition

BonMar,
THAT'S NOT FAIR!!! You just made me snort a soda through my nose!
Yes. It was soda too. Not 5:00 yet!
Tujague's (two jacks) is an old NOLA restuarant near the Cafe DuMonde.
We've had some great dinners there and had a few duds but the ambience is so NOLA, especially if you get a "room" upstairs.
Nice bar too. But then you knew I'd say that, yah?
I'm thinking of being there Friday but we can always come back so we can buy you a b'day cocktail...but P O'B's would be more traditional for a B'day drink in NOLA.
I'll be the one in the "Betty Ford Clinc" ballhat.
Let da gooood times rollllll.

cd, No. We live in No Cal outside of Sackatomatoes.
If you ever make it up here or to Napa/Sonoma, let us know.
We may go back to NOLA if the Kings play the Hornets on a weekend in 2004.
Cheers ya'll.
