New Orleans restaurant in Garden District
A friend recommended a restaurant in the Garden District that is at the end of the "trolley" line. She said there's always a wait; but the food was fantastic. That is all I have to go on. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Sorry; wish I had more info on it; I know that's pretty vague! Thanks for any help offered.

Could also be Jacques Imos, just off the Carrollton part of the streetcar line. Like uptowngirl mentioned, it's not in the Garden District but rather "Uptown", "Riverbend" or the "Universities" area.
Garden District is much closer to downtown New Orleans than is the area around Tulane and Loyola. Also, the streetcars aren't working now and won't be fully operational until 2008. A bus runs the route now.

Okay, this is what I was thinking of - Pascal's Manale. It's at 1828 Napolean and is famous for barbeque shrimp. It's been years since we ate there and we did have to wait forever for a table, but personally I found that shrimp a little too sloppy!

I was thinking Camellia Grill too, simply because it's at the end of the line, but mmmmmmmmm that barbequed shrimp from Manale's is absolutely to die for!!
I have a recipe, allegedly from there. It's a bit frightening in that it calls for a can (1 oz) of pepper!!

Yea, I was thinking Manale's too, but as noted above it's not at the end of the line and is more in Uptown. It does sound more like Camelia Grill, which is certainly very good. But since someone's mentioned Manale's (!) I'm drooling just thinking about that BBQ shrimp. It's one of our favorites.

Thank you all for the suggestions and comments. Chilepepper; I love yours.. "try them 'em all"! If we had time...
And thanks for the heads up on the streetcar info. Also great to know.
OO; would you feel like sharing your BBQ shrimp recipe recipe here; or is it out of line to ask? It wouldn't go any further; promise!
Thanks again for all your help; this weekends weather is looking questionable for the convertible I was going to rent; but a little rain won't dampen my appetite for good food!
