New Orleans evening entertainment?
Any suggestions for places to go after dinner in New Orleans in the French Quarter? Good spots to listen to music or see a show? DH and I are going next week and on previous trips we always seem to wander aimlessly after we eat. It would be nice to have some actual destinations in mind.
Thanks!

The one thing I'm kicking myself about missing on my trip to NOLA is Preservation Hall. According to the web site, there are no reservations, no smoking, no drinking, so you better finish your hurricane before you get in. Have fun!

During the week you are best to be in line 30 mins. ahead if you want a chance at a seat. Otherwise expect to stand and dive for seats vacated by people leaving. You can sit at the front in the side seats if you wish, many times I just walk up front to those, next to the drummer with looks from those standing who didn't realize they are available.
On weekends, you will see the lines start about an hour before.
