New Jersey Hotel Opinions Needed

Hi....Can someone give any opinions on the following hotels? I am looking for a decent sized room for me and my 2 boys, and an indoor pool. Thanks.

Renaissance Meadowlands - $103
Courtyard by Marriott, Lyndhurst - $89
Hilton Garden, Secaucus - $125
Sheraton Meadowlands - $105
Sheraton Suites, Weehawken - $144

These are not typical tourist areas - is there some special reason you're staying here rather than in the City? If so, perhaps knowing that would help people respond.

We are in town for the NCAA East Regional basketball finals. We will arrive Thursday, spend the afternoon at the pool before heading to Continental Arena, Friday is an off-day, and then there is another game on Saturday. This is not exactly a tourist trip...more hoop and hanging around the hotel/pool. We *may* go into NYC on Friday.

I am waffling between the Renaissance and the Sheraton at this point.

I recommend the Sheraton Suites. Family members stayed there and loved it. You can't beat the views of the city and a hot and cold breakfast buffet is included in the price. You can take the ferry into the city which also offers a free shuttle bus service to various parts of the city once you're there. This hotel is also about one block away from Houlihan's Restaurant which is a moderately priced casual restaurant that serves burgers, chicken, etc. There's also a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and The Chart House.

yes, I did check tripadvisor.com and just about any other resource out there. But, this is the best place to get *real* opinions.

another thing I am considering in this is being "close to the action" - the hotel being full of fellow hoop fans, hence my hard look at the Renaissance and the Sheraton.

I want to make a reservation on Thursday...last call for your oh-so-wise thoughts on this fodorites!
