Well, there are 2 hotels that come to mind. One is the downtown Hyatt, which is very nice. The other is the Strathallan Hotel - which is a small, boutique hotel on a very fancy street near the Montage. Walking from either one to Montage, while not especially far, could be a little scarey (especially late at night). Perhaps the hotel could shuttle you?

The Montage is in a funny place. It is sort of behind some buildings. In general, that is a part of town that is pretty lively at night, but the Montage is just SLIGHTLY more off the beaten track than the other bars. Whatever you do, don't stay at the closest hotel, called the Cadillac, as it is sort of a homeless shelter.

I'm making this sound really bad - IT ISN'T. The Montage (like all of Rochester) has some truly great entertainment. In fact, my son is playing there tomorrow night before Joe Romano. We'll be going.

Have a great visit. Let me know if you need anything else.

Weenie, can you say anything about the "Inn on Broadway"? On the map, it looks close by, but I know nothing about the specific neighborhood let alone the hotel.

Well, that just shows you how much I know! I thought it was still the University Club, and I did not know it was a hotel now! It is close - and East Ave is lovely. Montage is right near East Ave on Chestnut St. I'll cruise by the Inn tomorrow and report back here. OK?

If you don't mind about a 20 minute drive after the show, the Delmonte Inn in Pittsford it fantastic.
I'm sure they would have a web site if you do a search on google or similar.
Good luck and have fun.

Inn on Broadway looks great and is REALLY close to Montage Grille. It is a perfect place to stay for doing things in the entertainment part of town, including Eastman School of Music. We had a good dinner at Montage tonight - although VERY slow service. Still worth it. Have fun!!!
