Okay, folks, looking for suggestions here.
Taking vacation in June, have no idea where to go (much deserved break from work).
All I care about is 1) restful and 2) water somewhere (ocean, lake, anything!)

Anywhere in the Florida Keys has been our most restful getaway. Since we live in Florida it's great to just go for a few days for some R&R. Also, Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas is a very restful place to go.

I agree with Kathy. The Outer Banks is a great choice. I prefer Duck and Corolla. You could rent a beach house for a week(one with a pool) and relax. If you would like to look at some houses go to CarolinaDesigns.com they rent wonderful homes.

North Shore of Kauai no better spot in Canada or U.S (IMHO)for complete relaxation in a gorgeous environment June, July and August for little to no rain.

Another vote for Kauai.
If that's too far, Lake Tahoe in June is nice. Just stay away from the hub bub.
I still want to rent a houseboat on Lake Powell and just drift for a week.

Bora Bora has thached roof huts over crystal clear waters that are wonderful! You can swim right off your front porch. If you are interested I'm sure you could do a search under Bora Bora. The Sheraton has the same in Tahiti but Bora Bora is more beautiful.

Another vote for Vancouver Island. While not the warmest place, it's sooooo relaxing. A hammock, a beer and hours of watching the waves.

And one of the days, you could take a drive into Victoria and get a taste of Europe.

cd want to got to where you speak of so bad but wonder. ...isn't this where those German and American tourist were captured while having dinner last year? Remember the one American Businessman was beheaded. Think some rebel group from the Philipines came in on boats and kidnapped the vacationers from their hotels. The Philipean goverment was not at all sensitive to the captured and fired directly in their area to kill captors but endangered the kidnapped.

I'm not familiar with that new's story at all. We were there last year and it is very peaceful. Bora Bora is in French Polynesia. Is it possible you are thinking of another place?
