Hawaii - Flight Back
Hi everyone,
My flight leaving Hawaii to go to Vancouver is at 8h25 pm. I just spoke to my travel agent and she told me that we have to be at the airport minimum 4 hours before the flight. She says that international flight is 4 hours and domestic flight 2 hours to go true security.
Do you have to get there that early?
We will take a tour with airport drop-off because otherwise it would be too long of a day to carry our suitcases around.
Does anyone know how far is Hanauma Bay from the cruise terminal? We would like to have at least one day at the beach during our cruise. Any suggestions? It could be on any of these islands: Oahu, Hilo or Maui.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Sounds totally off to me. Normally intl. flights ask you to be there three hours ahead of time and domestic is two hrs. Going thru security wherever we have been has been usually less than 30 mins. Just call the airlines and double check.
As for beach time I would go to Kaanapali in Maui. Hilo is the wet side of the Big Island and there is a lot to see in Oahu but it's up to you.
Aloha!

jacketwatch - But those are in Vancouver. I will leave from Hawaii and in Vancouver I have to wait another 4 hours for another flight home which will last at least 7 hours. I'm not looking for that day at all.

I'm assuming you're flying out of HNL. Whenever I have an international flight (I live on Oahu), I'm at the airport at least 3 hours in advance. 4 hours sounds a bit much, but the check in and security lines at HNL are ridiculous sometimes.
Hanauma Bay from the cruise terminal (Aloha Tower) is about a 30-40 minute drive, depending on the time of day and the traffic. If you are taking a tour to get there, you won't have to worry about parking, which gets full very quickly.
