Southwest to enter Code Share with West Jet
Southwest Airlines Co., in a move that is likely to bolster future traffic at Chicago's Midway Airport, said Tuesday that it intends to start a codeshare partnership with Canada's Westjet Airlines Ltd., in a move that represents the Texas-based discount carrier's first venture outside the U.S.

Saw that on the news last night. Not surprised since ATA went under. So they now get access again to Hawaii as well as Canada, Mexico and the Carribean. And they've made it clear that this isn't the end to their proposed "overseas" expansion/alliances.

Here's the problem with Hawaii: Unless WestJet adds new nonstops to Hawaii from somewhere other than Vancouver, a passenger would have to fly to Las Vegas, then up to Vancouver, then to Hawaii, which will probably seem inconvienient to a fair amount of people.
