Need recommendation for nice restaurant NOT in Colonial Williamsburg

Looking for a nice dinner that is NOT in one of the Colonial taverns in Williamsburg for our daughter's 15th birthday. We will have a car so don't mind having to drive.

If your daughter enjoys really cool food, go for teh Fat Canary. It is really the best (most creative) around here. Otherwise, for wonderful French, La Yaca out at the Kingsmill Shops. River's Inn in Gloucester is over the water and at a yacht haven so the sights are gorgeous.

Weespxx - thanks for the Fat Canary recommendation. I googled it and it looks like the perfect place!

I completely agree with weespxx's suggestions. Don't know when you're expecting to be here, but the FC is a small restaurant. Book well ahead especially if it's a weekend.

Fat Carnary would be perfect; do book early. Trellis might be a good second. Be sure to share the famous "Death By Chocolate" cake. Worth every calorie!
