Need info on Tucson hotel and location

Hello,

Need info on the Radisson Suites Hotel in Tucson located on Speedway and just east of Wilmot. Is the location in a decent and safe area?

Is Wilmot the street with a Trader Joe's on the (I think) northwest corner? Also, is there a bread company restaurant in the strip mall on the south side of Speedway next to a very large bookstore? If so, do you know the name of it?

Any info on hotel and location would be very appreciated? Thanks.

The Radisson is in a perfectly safe area. Yes, Trader Joe's is on the N/W corner of Wilmot.
The Bread/sandwhich business you are referring to is named: Beyond Bread, and is right across the street (i believe) from Trader Joes. It is in the Monterray Plaza. The Bookstore is Bookmans, which sells used books.

We stayed at the hotel a long time ago, however, it appears to be kept up. Should have no problem staying there. Best of all it is near Beyond Bread, which in my opinion is the best sandwich shop in the world!!!!

That's a perfectly decent area, although not particularly scenic (Speedway is strip malls for miles).

We stayed at that Radisson (although I think at the time it was a Doubletree) several years ago, before we moved here, and it was just fine.

We had lunch at a Greek café on Speedway & Country Club “Fronimo's” which was very good.

An old trip report Linda, maybe it has some ideas for you:

Thanks for the help. I am so glad someone told me the name of Beyond Bread--it is such a great sandwich place. Anyone know a place like it in Phoenix area-especially the west side? Thanks again.
