PS -- You said "outdoor adventures" - lots of hiking trails and canoeing in this area, too. White River is nearby, Buffalo River a little further. Several lakes, too. I've traveled to this are in May, and it was very pleasant -- not too hot yet (although there can be exceptions.)

Arsenic and Old Lace B&B in Eureka Springs!

It's a little more than a cabin but perfect for a honeymoon or any romantic occasion. Dogs are allowed in the Patio and Library Suites. May be worth a kennel or sitter to stay in the Tree Top Suite.

LBL, Ozarks and Eureka Springs all look awesome and exactly like the type of place we're looking for. Also, I'm a sucker b&bs and Arsenic looks really neat too. Thanks for all the tips! Anyone who has more, keep 'em coming. I can use all the ideas that'll fit into my brain.

Fly to Vegas and then drive up to Zion National park. Maybe spend your first night in a luxurious Vegas room, since they are cheap cheap in August.

You could drive to the small historic town of Hermann Mo in a few hours. There are many B&Bs--I don't know how many accept pets. You could go to the wineries in the area and Washington which has a nice little downtown. You can walk or bike the Katy Trail.

We like going to Door County Wis and staying in cottages there. The Gulls has funky knotty pine cottages in Bailey's Harbor overlooking Lake Michigan.

Hermann is nice. Take a day trip to St.Louis, free art museum, treat yourself to supper somewhere.

I was in Eureka Springs once, pre-DH. I agree that would be a great spot for you to go to.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I'm going to keep this thread marked for future trips. My mother and I will be taking a trip to Hermann this summer to do some wine tasting--so thanks for that suggestion. DF and I are going to Chicago for our honeymoon. It's close enough to drive and has a lot of hotel options.

I don't want to be a downer, but is your budget $1000 for 4-5 nights including lodging, meals, etc? If so, I fear your desire to have one, if not daily, massages might be hard to achieve. Massages are expensive these days - figure $80 for a 50 minute, and $110 or so for a 90 minute massage. So even doing one would be a pretty big hit to the honeymoon budget...and does DF get a "treat" of equivalent value?
