Need Cola. and Chas. weather info!

Hi all -

I'm in Greenville. We have no power, water, phone, etc. and there are so many trees down you can't get around.

I'm wondering how far I would have to go to find clear roads (we're cyclists) and hotels, restaurants, etc. with power!

Thanks!

Since we have no idea what towns or state you're talking about, we can't help much. I suggest that since you do have online access, you try the local TV stations' websites.

We are clear down on the coast! It was almost 70 degrees yesterday at one point.

I think it was in the 60s last night.

Since my cable was out this morning, I have no idea what it is supposed to be like today but it is balmy out right now.

Well, www.weather.com says it is 49 degrees but it feels much warmer. The ocean temp is still in the low 70s so that is probably why.

Gotta ask - with no power how did you manage to access the internet to post? Blackberry or something similar?

Drove the truck into and out of the ditch to get around the downed lines/trees, took a shower at the gym and came to work, fortunately my office is in one of Greenville's 3 "towers"; downtown is one of the few spots w/ power. Never been so happy to be at work. This is the largest power outage I can ever remember seeing. We drove about 15 miles this morning before we saw an electric light.

Thanks for asking ;-)

Litespeed, I talked to sister in law in Columbia last night and they report no problems. Godson in Charleston reports paradise. Head that way.

hey Litespeed - I guess your lights are back on now. Asheville got very little of the ice/downed trees except in the very south end of town. I'm up in Weaver-vegas and we got nada
