Need cheap flight from Corpus Christi to NY

Hi All,

As some of you may know, my dear MIL just passed away. I am trying to get my niece from Corpus Christi to New York. I am in Westchester County. I am trying to find which airline would be the most cost effective and closest for her. Also if there are any websites that would have any type of discount. Do airlines do bereavement fares? I wish I had time to look up all of this info myself but I don't. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can give.

I have also posted this in the Lounge.

I can't tell you specifically which airline might be best, but definitely check flights into the two upstate airports (White Plains and Stewart). These flights are often not more expensive and sometimes even cheaper than flights into LGA, JFK, and Newark over the holidays.

You can check fares on Kayak.com to get a sense of what people are paying now, but fares are pretty high all around.

I answered your other thread. Southwest has $129 each way or $150 each way flights from San Antonio to LGA or $129; depends on day.

You definitely won't find anything better than that Southwest rate. That would be worth flying into LGA for.

I don't think the airlines do bereavement fares any more and even if some do, not sure a granddaughter would qualify. In my experience, Southwest is the best for fares on short notice.

I saw Expedia had a great rate non stop into Newark. I'm going to have her try that. And the Southwest rate. Thank you all!
