My husband and I are taking his parents to Las Vegas. We've been there many times, but they have not. I need to find a nice good quality steakhouse. My husband and I are renewing a vows so it's a celebration. I want to empress my in-laws, but not go overboard, we are already footing the bill for everything. Any suggestions?

These would be the best. There are many more, but I would stick with one of the above.

It may also depend on what will impress his parents. I love the beaten track of Binion's Steakhouse downtown above Binion's Horseshoe. It has big windows and a wonderful impressive view, but the place is like stepping back into a steakhouse of the 1950's. Is that Frank Sinatra sitting over there in the corner? Steaks are wonderful, but it is an old-fashioned, yet "elegant" red velvet sort of place. Prices will be up to a half less than those places mentioned above.

I second the vote for Binion's. Love the view. It's a neat place, and the steaks are quite good. Don't remember pricing (if Patrick is right about that, you are in luck). Do remember having numerous wonderful meals there, however.

I have also had enjoyable steak dinners at Blackstone's at Monte-Carlo and Smith & Wollensky, but the combination of the meal & view at Binion's makes it a more special experience, I think.

Since this post came back up, I realize I may not have justified what I meant by "what will impress his parents". What I mean is that I know MY older, conservative parents would not have been impressed with places like Prime or Morton's -- too over the top for THEM. But they would have simply loved Binions. So it really depends on your "customers".

Never been to Las Vegas, but if Smith and Wollensky is anything like New York's, then go. That's the best steakhouse in Manhattan, and second only to Peter Luger's in New York.

Smith and Walley's in Vegas is awful. I've been to the NY one many times and the one is Vegas isn't worthy of the name.

Prime at Bellagio, not Ceasar's as indicated, is top notch. However, the prices will match so that may not fit your budget criteria.

I never been to Binion's but it sounds like a good spot.

If you don't want to head downtown and want to stay on the Strip, I was really impressed with the steak I had at Gallagher's in NYNY. Their aged beef is excellant and I actually found the one in Vegas to be much more upscale than the NYC original. Price wise it is reasonable.

While not a steakhouse, Lawry's Prime Rib restaurant might work for your in-laws. Great food and and while not cheap is a good dollar value choice. They have a web site you can look up too.

The Steakhouse located in Circus Circus (no joke) is also highly regarded. Another non-steakhouse suggestion is Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens, excellent continental cuisine (meat and seafood), kind of a classic older Las Vegas establishment that your in-laws might appreciate.

I also agree that Smith and Wollensky in Vegas is terrible. Well,okay terrible may be a strong word but I would NEVER go back there!!
All the others mentioned seem like good choices but stay away from Smith and Walley's.

If you are more into the food than the atomsphere....the steakhouse in circus circus has my vote. The food will def impress your in-laws.
