Need a romantic hotel on Big Island
Can you recommend a place to stay on the Big Island that is not too large, really a "get away". Looking to have a few romantic days before we hook up with friends on Kauai. Price range not more than $600.00 a night please. Thank you!

I'm one of those that loves Hapuna, and if the price is right, I would definately recommend it. We've gone with our kids, but also went with just my wife once, and had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful, the beach is the best on the Big Island, they have a nice gym, and the large infinity pool is fantastic and relaxing. I'm sure they'll be some families there, but I don't think its considered a "family" resort, at all.
Not sure what the "oceanfront" rooms would cost, but they're very close to the beach with nothing but ocean to look out at your window.

The Hapuna is great, but I think the Kona Village Resort is more romantic.

We had lunch at the Fairmount and it is a beautiful place. I don't know about Kona Village, Ag, but am glad to hear of it. I'm going to click the link. Thanks.
To Lauricelli, once you pick your place, you'll find lots of romantic restaurant suggestions here with a quick search.

Check into details before you book Kona Village. The prices are high, but includes meals I think. If I remember correctly, the hales do not have a/c, phone or TV. Don't take my word for it, check on it. But, some folks like having those in the rooms. Again, I'm going on memory here so check to make sure what the rate includes and if the rooms have a/c, phone and TV - if any of the three matter to you.

How about a luxury inn or b&b instead of a hotel. Two possibilities Palms Cliff House http://www.palmscliffhouse.com/
or Waianuhea

Thanks for your replies! I've been checking them out. I'm considering staying at the Palms Cliff House (Paradise Views room). We might be going to look at property near Hilo so the location of the Palms Cliff House is good.
Has anyone stayed here?
Thanks
