napa/sonoma driver
I am taking my first trip to the Napa/Sonoma area for my 40th birthday. I am looking for a driver/tour guide and will have a car. I just don't want to be drinking and driving. Any suggestions? Also any suggestions on good merlot wineries?

IMHO--The Merlot at Domain Chandon is outstanding. It is almost the only wine I like !!!
http://www.wineshuttle.com is a good outfit to use for wine tours...
If you do a "search" on this board for "wine tours" I am sure you will find other references..

Merlot, you ask?
Pride Mountain, Paloma, Switchback Ridge and Hourglass. These wineries make, imho, the best Merlot in the country. Oh, and one thing in common about these wines - Bob Foley, a great winemaker, makes 'em.
For some thing less costly, but would qualify as a good QPR, try Havens.
