Na Pali Coast: Holoholo Charter, Captain Andy, or somebody else?

We are going to Kauai over Memorial Day weekend and would like to tour the Na Pali Coast. We have an Entertainment Book coupon for Holoholo Charters. Some of the posters here are high on Captain Andy. Who runs the best boat tour of the Na Pali Coast and where do they leave from?

Most leave from the west side like from Port Allen. We took Captain Sundown which leaves from the north but you paddle out to the catamaran in an outrigger. That was great fun. We sailed the coast and were to stop for lunch and snorkeling except that he day was too windy. None of the boats could really stop though some of them tried to. The trip was beautiful and the best part is that we actually sailed. There were only 18 guests allowed on the trip so it wasn't crowded. When we went, we didn't know which boat tour to take either. Holoholo looked good as did Captain Andy. Both took more passengers than I wanted to share the day with. I guess the clincher for us was that Captain Sundown left from the north and we got to see more of that part of the island than those who left from the west did.

Liko Kauai Cruises is the operation we took from the Waimea area. Great cruise on a catamaran - excellent guides, food and snorkelling. I recommend them highly.

I forget the name of the outfit that I used but we picked it up on the North Shore last summer. What I looked for was a small group of people. Holoholo is just so huge. YIKES I can still hear the commercial. You will know the drum beat on your return also. I have never left out of port Allen. Only a few boats go out of N.S but they are all small and not crowded, making snorkeling and sight seeing more enjoyable. We made our reservations 1-2 days prior to trip. We did not see any other boats on either of the two trips. I would think this would create a more welcoming environment for wildlife. Capatain sundown was one boat the other a small motor boat.
