Na Pali boat tour out of Hanalei

Does anyone know if there is any Na Pali boat/catamaran tour leaving out of Hanalei anymore? If so, what is the name?

I've been on Liko's Kauai cruise and did some text search. However, everyone's been on Captain Sundown, etc. which leave from Port Allen or west side of the island.

I just want a shorter ride and see "more" of Na Pali. I believe there were some conflicts concerning boat leaving Hanalei due to residents' protests in 1999/2000.

Many thanks .... and Kal, we're leaving in June.
Cathy

If I'm not mistaken, Captain Sundown goes out of Hanalei Bay. I sure hope so because we just booked it!

We are doing the 3 hr 4-7pm sunset boat tour of the coast, no snorkeling or anything.

Suggest you refer to the blue bible: "The Ultimate Guide to Kauai" for recommendations, we chose Napali Catamaran out of Hanalei Bay in March.
They use a small boat to take you out to the larger sight-seeing vessel. 808-826-6853

We went on a day trip snorkeling tour which included breakfast and lunch. Paddled an outrigger from shore to the catamaran. They put your stuff in waterproof bags so they don't get wet. It was with Captain Sundown. They only take about 16 guests and the crew is great. We had a great time.

Bogart's mom,
Someone mentioned on another post that due to your tip, he/she was able to book Captain Sundown cheaper than website. Can you share that tip?

Hi! I am not sure where Bogart's mom found it, but I emailed captain sundown's and said that I saw here on Fodor's that their afternoon trip (4-7) was 90/pp (compared to the 110/pp on their website)and Steph (Mrs. Capt Sundown) said they would honor the price.....I would be interested, though, where bogart's mom found it and there are more prices like it.....Captin Sundown's website is www.captainsudown.com and they defined leave out of Hanalei, not port allen. I made my reservations today....
Have Fun!

Hana, Believe it or not, we've never been on the boat tour of the NaPali.

Since we go in Nov/Dec/Jan the surf is usually too high/rough for our weak stomachs.

In fact, it seems like the past few years the NoShore beaches were closed at some point during the trip due to
20-30' waves.
It is downright awesome when the sea spray fills up the Hanalei Valley right around sundown.

Looks like you're going over at the "poifect" time!
Ahhhhh 228!

We found that Captain Sundown will offer you the cheapest rate you find. We mentioned that we saw the reference in the Ultimate Guide to Kauai without saying how much the price was. She offered us the lower price printed in the book though I had not mentioned it. We felt that they were great.

We also engaged the capt'n in some discussion about the "no boats out of Hanalei" issue. Was an interesting discussion and a different point of view.
