Myrtles Plantation

I have found out that the Myrtles plantation is also a Bed and Breakfast. Has anyone stayed the night there? If so is it worth the price?

I have had some friends stay there & enjoy it. We stayed at the Butler Greenwood House B&B not far from there. They have several buildings you can choose. We stayed in the gazebo. It was really nice with stained glass windows (long ones like in church), gazebo shaped roof, whirlpool tub. They also had another place that had a deck overlooking the woods that was nice looking too. The grounds were neat & the owner of the house is an author whose husband tried to kill her. You might check their website as a comparison. You can always stay somewhere & still visit the Myrtles.

We stayed at the Myrtles in mid July. It was very spooky and we enjoyed our stay in a "haunted house". The upstairs guest rooms in the old section are a little shabby and worn, especially considering the nightly rate.

We didn't stay there, but did visit the grounds and eat in a restaurant on the property. I think it was called "the carriage house". It was a great meal!
I had some kind of crawfish thing...really good. We're so excited whenever see those Halloween specials featuring the Myrtles, get to say we were actually there.

Kelly, the Myrtles is a plantation home in St. Francisville, Louisiana. It is supposedly haunted by a slave girl named Cloe and the Woman and two children that she "accidently" killed. It has a great history to it and is supposedly a spooky place to stay. St. Francisville is supposedly the spookiest/haunted town in Louisiana second only to New Orleans.

I have seen this story several times on the Travel Channel. It is a very interesting story. I think she is a good spirit. She was eavesropping on the family, she was the Masters mistress. He cut off her ear, and she was angry and put Oleander in the cake for the family not realizing it would kill his wife and children. The town people found out immediately, and killed Cloe. This is how I recall the story on this famous haunted house.
