Just want to add a bit more info regarding Harley Bike Week.....a large group of us from Ohio have been making the trip for the past 8 years. Traffic is the biggest problem and although some people enjoy labeling all bikers as bad mannered drunks, I have never experienced one problem. Unfortunately, families visiting the area during that time will find it really difficult to get around. Popular areas like Broadway on the Beach are extemely crowded.

dforquer, I strongly suggest you come to Garden City equiped with earplugs so you can sleep at night. I'm not kidding.

We rent in Garden City for bike week even though we have a house in Pawleys. You can safely say that Garden City and Murrells Inlet are the epicenter for bike week.

You will not leave without wanting to purchase a bike.

The week is nuts but it is fun!

Visit Suck, Bang, and Blow, The Beach House, SS&B 4 Corners, Creek Ratz, Divine Fish House, Bovine's and Russells to name a few.

OK--earplugs are on the list! Thanks for the tip and the restaurant recommendations. Even though the traffic will be crazy, I'm sure we'll have a ball!

Just a note of thanks to those of you who responded to my e-mail. We had a great time and picture-perfect weather. Ate at the Conch Cafe, Divine Fish House, Creek Ratz....went to Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, etc. Thanks for the recommendations. Fortunately we did not need earplugs at the condo although one night while playing miniature golf on Highway 17, we could have used them. The custom bikes were awesome and all the sponsored activities must have kept the bikers busy because the beaches weren't crowded at all. It was wonderful; ready to go back!
