Myrtle Beach Bike Week?
How big of an event is this? Is it contained to one side of the town? Will hotel reservations be tough?
If we are not motorcycle people should we stay (far) away?
Nothing against 'em, but I do not look forward to waking up every morning to the sound of revving hogs
TIA!

Which bike week?
Harley Week brings between 500,000 and 750,000 and stretches from North Carolina to Georgetown. It usually starts Mothers Day Weekend and goes until a week Monday. Think RUBs and biker gangs. Lots of fun.
Black Bike Week is over Memorial Weekend and is confined to North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach and is only the weekend. Think college kids on crotch rockets, locals leave town. Too many kids.
Fall Bike Weekend is the first weekend in October. 50,000 to 100,000 bikers and same locales as Harley Week.

scurry,
that's the first one that GoTravel mentioned. If you don't like the sound of revving Harleys, avoid everything near Myrtle Beach, from Murrells Inlet to the NC line. You will hear little else but the revving of hogs from May 11-20.
