My 2 day trip to NYC

My trip was fabulous...so fabulous that I'm going back next year! I think I did a whole lot of stuff for only being there for 2 days. Saturday we flew in and after checking in we decided to walk down over to Washington Square. There were some bums singing and other street performers. Then we walked around Greenwich Village and went to some funky stores. We caught an indie film at the IFC Center called, "Novo" and it was pretty good. After that we went to see Lennon and guess who was in the audience? Yep, Yoko! We walked right past her and we were actually just a few rows in front of her. She was wearing tight black pants and a little zip up black jacket that had Adidas type stripes, but the stripes were made out of diamonds. She also had big, black glasses that she wore throughout the show. After the show they brought her up on stage and I got a picture. Um, after the show we went to dinner at Becco and got 2 bottles of wine and got drunk and then went to some other small bar after that. Sunday we went to the Guggenheim and walked around Central Park and then Fifth Ave. Oh and we went inside St. Patrick's. That's it! I had a great time and the weather was beautiful.

I plan on going at the end of April during break from school. I'm debating on going either April 22-25 or April 29 - May 2. For some reason the later date is more expensive than the previous. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like during that time? I looked it up and I got a range from 40-71 F and I think that's a pretty wide range. I would love for it to be in the 60's. Also, I'm staying at the Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel. Has anyone stayed there before?

Oh and p.s. - Of course I had to look cute in NY and b/c of that I have feet covered in blisters. My sneakers are even hurting my feet!

LOL! Sounds like tons of fun!

I've run into to Yoko on the streets in Midtown before. Right outside Pick-A-Bagel on West 57th and was shocked by how tiny she is.

Yes, she is a teeny tiny lady! She had a bodyguard w/ her, but she was very friendly to anyone who came up to her and spoke to her.

Fun read, thanks, and enjoy part two of your trip to NYC.
What was your hotel? What was it like? Sorry, don't know anything about the Doubletree.

donco - I stayed at the Dylan Hotel, which was very nice. It's on Madison and 41st by the NY public library.

HowardR - Yes, it was! I didn't like the show at first b/c it was hard to follow all the character switches, but it turned out to be pretty good. A special night for sure.

Does anyone have any idea what the weather is like during that time? (I'm planning on going either April 22 or April 29th)

Littles, the weather that time of year is a crapshoot. It could be freezing rain or warm and sunny. Dress in layers.

I would like it to be in the upper 60's w/o rain. It's probably best to go the later weekend instead, huh?

Is May a better time of the year? I'm rethinking my dates to be May 6-9th. I really can't go any later than that though.
