Mummy ride at Universal Studios?
I know the ride doesn't "officially" open until 5/21 but I've read where it's been open for few select "un-official' days. So,since I'm headed to Orlando in few weeks, I'd love to hear from anyone who's been on the new ride and what are their thoughts/impressions?

hi Pumpy ~
My family got lucky a day we were at Universal this past April and rode the Mummy. They were having technical rehearsals.
The ride was over before we knew it! This was actually a good thing, because being prone to motion sickness, it definitely wouldn've made me sick if it had lasted any longer!
It's a rollercoaster that was being compared to Disney's Space Mountain. In my opinion, the only thing they have in common are they are both in the dark. I can ride Space Mountain & never get sick. The Mummy stops abruptly and goes backwards for a moment; it's also jerky in movement. A better comparison is the "Dinosaur" ride @Disney.
We all enjoyed the Mummy ~ my sons and husband loved it. Universal never ceases to amaze me with their creativity & engineering!

If you go to www.disboards.com and then scroll down--on the left side you'll see Universal Forums. Click on Universal Studios Discussion. There were several posts added the last couple days from people who have ridden Mummy. There are other old posts from the last trial.
