Check the current requirements for Virgin Islands; you might not need a passport but you might need a birth certificate.

As for Florida, what about Sanibel Island? Our part of FL (the Panhandle) is not what you're looking for in February, but Sanibel will be warmer.

I've let my daughter in on the secret so that she could choose. We've decided to go to Fort Lauderdale and got a good deal on airfare. I asked her to prioritize what she wants to do so that we can get help with the hotel. She absolutely needs a nice hot tub at the hotel and would like if the hotel were on the ocean to walk the beach in the mornings. She would also love to get her 1st massage and her nails done! I would love to give her all these things. One last call for help on this would be so appreciated.

I would call the spa to be sure that she is old enough to get a massage - as I shared there are age limits. My 12 year old has had massages - but through the chiropractor. I took my 16 year old to San Francisco and at several spas she was not old enough for that kind of a treatment.

You have you take her to South Beach... hip, trendy, shopping and cool dining... great beach, and the place to be for every teen... you might even be able to stay there if you shop room rates... there's lots to do and spas also... have fun!

I couldn't advise you on Ft. Lauderdale. I' suggest other Fodorites as well as the Fodors overview section which always recommends hotels. It also depends on if you want the spa in the hotel or one local to it. The hotels could always make suggestions as well. And I agree with MomDDTravel. Not all places will do it for that age so check first. Have fun!

Thank you all for your great advice. I will look at hotels at South Beach and perhaps I will use the hotel's staff for suggestions on massages once we get there. It is sure to be a great and relaxing trip!!

Hi garyt22,
I was searching South Beach at your reccommendation with no luck. Couldn't find it on the map either. Could you be more specific?

Thanks

South Beach is the area of Miami Beach that includes Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive... We had great luck at the Doubletree Inn Surfcomber on the beach... just add Miami to your search and it should give you everything you need...
