Most romantic Cannon Beach restaurant for anniversary dinner?

What would be the suggestions for the most romantic Cannon Beach restaurant for our 30th wedding anniversary dinner for the two of us? Probably would prefer something ocean view, but with good food?

I'd go for Newman's 988 but it doesn't have a view.

Choice is a bit limited unfortunately. Newman's 988 is definitely the most reliable for us....it's quaint and small. If you are staying in the Stephanie Inn, their restaurant would be an option, although it also won't be ocean front.
cheers,
CC

The Stephanie Inn has excellent food, you will need a reservation and have to guarantee it with a credit card. It is a Fixe Prixe menu, so call and make sure they are serving something you like. The Wayfarer has oceanviews and very good food, we just dined there for lunch with friends a few days ago. We also love Newman's, I saw John @ the Astoria Crab & Seafood Festival! ***kim***

Nothing romantic about the Stephanie Inn, unless you like pretentiousness. John Newman apparently didn't, leaving Stephanie Inn to open his own restaurant.

The food at Wayfarer qualifies as good, but don't expect gourmet. It serves as the restaurant for Surfsand Resort next door, which is the family-friendly sister of Stephanie Inn. So you'll see lots of families there, unlike at Newman's. The only other restaurant in town with a decent ocean view is Mo's, where the view might be the best thing to be said for the dining experience.

Newman's may be your best bet: http://www.newmansat988.com/Menu2.htm

Mo's dishes up large servings of very fresh food at reasonable prices, but trying to put "Mo's" and "romantic" in a truthful sentence I come up with "Mo's isn't romantic."

The Wayfarer is descent, but it can be hectic. If the weather is good, the outdoor terrace at Wayfarer might put you in the mood for whatever you're hoping for later in the evening.

Mo's and romantic don't go together at all.

Newman's does have the best food - but no view.

Food at Wayfarer is ok - not fine dining - but ok. Again, not romantic.

I'd pick Newman's, hope the weather is decent, and go for a romantic walk on the beach afterwards.

We went to Newman's a year ago and loved it! (We were visiting Manzanita.) So here's another vote for it.
