Monterey - where to stay

We are looking for a hotel that would also suit our two 20-year olds who like outdoor eating, evening shopping, people-watching, ocean views. Any ideas? And would this be a good base for 2 nights that would also include Julia Pfeiffer State Park visit? Thanks!

Not to begin a riot here + For the short time you staying you can visit the Point Lobos on that trip. Mabey $12 to enter for very worth the cost. Clean and natural acres of rocks, beaches, birds and sealifes and running water bathroom.

With good sayings also for JP Park. Cabins, tents, RVS. McWay Falls on a short walk from saparate parking lots near JP Park.

Monterey Marriot is average with very nice features. Small differents I know. Monterey is good base for JP Park taking the medium cost, low crime, center driving locate.

On biking walking path near water of Mont. Bay do find French cafe for breakfast / lunch. This is not French price or French attitute or French overdone. Has many time a live guitartst outside next to patio tables and good valued.

Anchor Pub on Franklin. Indoors aoutdoors tables.
Club Octane for house musik.
Cibos on Alvarado for Live R&B and other.

Little cost for all equipments and Kayak rentals Moneyrey on DelMonte road for morning or afternoon shift. Be first in morning. Windy on afternoons.
Sushi rest. at wharf at itself on side.

i would suggest somewhere on Cannery Row for a water view, people watching, lots of shops, restaurants, etc. Also near the wonderful Aquarium. This website might help you:

Staying at Carmel-by-the-Sea is really nice too. There are a lot hotels and inns to choose from.
