Michelangelo or Kitano in NYC?
We're coming in May for a mom daughter weekend. We'll be seeing a show and just goofing around. I got reasonably good rates at both ($325 at Michelangelo or $310 at Kitano). The reviews on tripfinder of Kitano weren't recent- any feedback?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've been in the lobby of the Kitano. It's very, very nice. Understated elegance. It's usually extremely expensive - that sounds like a very good rate. You never hear about on Fodors - maybe a lot of foreigners stay there, I don't know. I don't think you can go wrong there.

I just looked at the reviews for Kitano and they are very recent. Maybe you looked at the wrong thing.

We stay at the Michelangelo about 3-4 times a year, and annually with a group of friends for a gtg of theater and dining - we love the location, the staff, the cleanliness, the piano/music in the bar at night, the coffee station in the morning, - we are big fans -
I can't speak to the Kitano having never been there, but was at the Michelangelo twice in January and will be again this month (and I am fairly picky
also, the staff - many, many (most actually) have been there for a long, long time - and we've watched several get promoted from within, and all speak genuinely excited about working there and how good they are to their employees - and I think it shows.
